The Education Center, Aura Inc. is a corporation that includes a licensed daycare center and a consulting firm that focuses on educational training for early childhood educators. We are proud to say that we follow and exceed the state’s minimum standards for curricula.
At the Education Center, Aura Inc. the curriculum focuses on building active minds, healthy bodies, and happy hearts to go beyond just a daycare experience. It offers year round full and part-time child care and preschool education programs for children from infants up to school age. In 2015, the center entered into a partnership with Early Head Start-Child Care Program (EHS-CCP) for infants up to age three (3). Besides the EHS-CCP partnership, the center offers private care for children ages one (1) to twelve (12) years of age. This includes early childhood education, after-school child care, and fun educational summer camps. The environment is safe and secure, providing you with peace of mind while providing your child with the necessary tools to develop and grow every day!
The Head Director, Dr. Miroslava B. Vargas, has a doctorate’s degree in education and over thirty-four (34) years of experience in early childhood education. The Assistant Director, Ms. Martha Velazquez, has seventeen (17) years experience in daycare. The center has employed eighty percent (80%) of the child care personnel that hold a Child Development Associate (CDA) or higher. The team of work together to ensure that the curriculum is implemented according to the philosophy of the Center and that developmentally appropriate measures are used for evaluation. These measures are used to provide parents with an overview of their child’s growth in the areas of social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.
Consultant Work
Training for early childhood educators is available on topics related to literacy development, age-appropriate curriculum, cultural diversity, professional development, lesson planning, inquiry approach, child-teacher interactions, working with the English Language Learner, language development, and assessment.
